Starling Murmuration

Commissioned by CU Boulder’s Allan McMurray Award for a new work for brass, woodwinds, or percussion, Starling Murmuration is an exploration of breath, movement, and chaos in collaboration with Lilly Parsons and other dancers from Colorado Springs. Using minimalist inspired textures to capture the motion of murmuration and organized chaos, different vignettes of the piece address parts of the murmuration itself.
